The Costa del Sol Tourism in 2009....
As we enter 2009 economists are predicting a miserable year as many industries struggle as a result of the worldwide credit crunch. This will result in an increase in unemployment which will ultimately have an impact on the tourism industry. However most people will still look to take at least one holiday a year as they try to escape the doom and gloom of everyday life. With the falling value of Sterling against the Euro and the Dollar it’s predicted that more holiday makers will look to stay in the UK, but there will still be thousands heading for Europe and the south coast of Spain will be one of the most popular destinations. The Costa del Sol has been a favourite holiday hot spot with British tourists since the late 1950’s when air travel first became available to the mainstream market.
Due to the economic situation holiday makers will be looking to save money wherever possible. One great way to save when visiting the Costa del Sol is to rent a villa directly from the owner. There are also other areas where savings can be made such as hiring a smaller car, and searching for cheaper flights.
Therefore despite the negative outlook for the 2009 economy, tourist experts predict that the impact on the Costa del Sol will be minimal and British holiday makers will continue to visit the south coast of Spain.
